Women's Tennis Falls in NCAA Regional Final

WEXFORD, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women’s tennis team saw its season come to a close with a 5-0 loss to Slippery Rock in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region 2 final. 

The Huskies dropped all three doubles matches, then lost at number one and two singles. Bloomsburg's Emily Palko (McMurray, Peters Township) was leading at number three and Kristen Bonito (Bridgewater, MA, Coyle Cassidy Memorial) at number five singles when the match ended.

The Rock, ranked 34th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll, avenged a 5-3 Rock loss to Bloomsburg in last year’s regional final.

Bloomsburg, the No. 42 team in the latest ITA ranking, ends its season with a 15-6 record.
