Joey Ianiero (Bloomsburg, Central Columbia) has been named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division second team for the 2010 season.
Ianiero led the Huskies and was 10th in the PSAC in hitting with a .400 average as he collected 58 hits, including 15 doubles and two homeruns. He also led the team with a .468 on-base-percentage and tied for the team lead with 37 RBI, despite missing the last six games of the season due to injury.
A transfer from Rutgers, Ianiero began the season strong, going 4-for-6 with two doubles, four RBI and four runs scored in a victory over the Apprentice School at the Newport News Shipbuilder Tournament. He continued his strong play, beginning the year on a nine-game hitting streak, going 19-for-41 (.463) with 14 RBI and 16 runs scored. He had 17 multi-hit games, including eight of at least three hits. Playing and starting in 38 games, Ianiero had 13 stolen bases and a .938 fielding percentage.
The Huskies went 16-28, 9-15 in the PSAC East in 2010, remaining in the thick of the conference tournament hunt all season.
