BLOOMSBURG--Four members of the Bloomsburg University Atlantic Region champion softball team have earned All-American honors it was announced on Wednesday night at the Banquet of Champions at the NCAA Division II softball national championships in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Earning second team All-American honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and the Daktronics Sports Information Directors is pitcher Shavaun Fisher (Coplay, Allentown Central Catholic), while Danielle Lazorka (Williamsport, Jersey Shore) also earned second team All-American honors from the NFCA with Lacy Mauro (Jersey Shore, Jersey Shore) picking up third team All-American honors from the NFCA. In addition, Nikki Shiko (Shamokin, Southern Columbia) was named honorable mention All-American by Daktronics.

In the circle, Fisher leads the Huskies with a mark of 34-5 and a 1.00 ERA. Fisher has been dominant the last three games throwing three straight shutouts in NCAA regional competition. Her 34 wins are second most all-time in a single season at Bloomsburg as are her 282 strikeouts in 259 innings of work. She has tossed 14 shutouts during the season and saved two games. Recently she has been inserted into the lineup as a hitter for the Huskies and is 2 for 9 with a homer, double and three RBI. Earlier in the month Fisher was named the PSAC Central Division Pitcher of the Year and first team All-PSAC Central Division. In April she was named Bloomsburg University’s Underclassmen Athlete of the Year.

Lazorka, the Huskies second baseman, is second in batting .387 with 31 RBI and 52 runs scored. She leads the Huskies in sacrifice bunts with 22 and has struckout just three times in 168 at-bats this season, one of the best marks in Division II. She was also named first team All-PSAC Central Division.

Mauro, the catcher for the Huskies, is third in hitting for the Huskies with an average of .383 with a homer and a team-high 43 RBI. In NCAA post-season play Mauro is 7-18 with five RBI and eight runs scored. She was named first team All-PSAC Central Division.

Shiko, the PSAC Central Division Player of the Year, leads the Huskies in hitting at .415 and has four homers and 42 RBI. Shiko is third all-time in hits for a single season with 81 and is second all-time in runs scored for a season with 64.

The Huskies, 49-6, and ranked sixth in the country, will face number two ranked Valdosta State on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. eastern in an opening round game at the Division II national championship tournament.
