Three Huskies Qualify for PSAC Championships at Millersville

Valerie Homer turned in a time of 13.05 in the 100 meters
MILLERSVILLE-The Bloomsburg University track and field teams qualified four athletes for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships during the Millersville Spring Opener.
Qualifying for the women were Valerie Homer (East Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South) in the 100 meters who ran 13.05 seconds; Angela Borealo (Easton, Easton) in the 1500 who finished in 4:46.68 and Kaitlyn Meck in the 1500 with a time of 4:48.26. On the men's side, John Barnett (Chester Springs, Downingtown East) qualified in the 400 hurdles with a mark of 57.32.
Three school records were also set on Saturday at the Millersville meet. In the men's 3000 meters Bobby Furman (Broomall, Marple Newtown) ran an 8:53.97 breaking the mark of 8:54.61 by Mike Espinosa in 2006. For the women, Brooke Matza (Shavertown, Lake Lehman) had a throw of 31.31 meters (102'8"),while Ashley Mancil (Bloomsburg, Bloomsburg) set a new mark in the pole vault 10'.
