HUSKY OPEN RESULTS

BLOOMSBURG – Andrew Anderson (Toms River, NJ, Toms River North) and Matthew Stuck (Milton, Milton) each posted Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times as Bloomsburg University hosted its inaugural Husky Open at Redman Stadium this weekend.

Anderson qualified in the 400m, finishing first overall with a time of 50.50. Stuck qualified with a height of 14’1.25” in the pole vault, placing second.

Michael Hookham (Middlesex, NJ, Middlesex) was another first place finisher for the Huskies, posting a time of 10:00.38 in the 3000m steeplechase. The men’s 4x400 relay team also took first overall, as Bryan Hennessey (Lower Gwynedd, Pennridge), Anderson, John Barnett (Chester Springs, Downingtown East) and Abu Siddique (Lansdale, North Penn) ran a 3.25.60.

“The inaugural Husky Open was a success on many fronts,” said men’s track coach Bernie Empie. “It brought track and field back to center stage at Bloomsburg University, produced many outstanding performances (season PR's and lifetime bests), and set the stage for many successful future track and field meets to be hosted at Redman Stadium.” The Husky Open marks the first outdoor track and field meet at Bloomsburg since 1990.

The Huskies return to the track next weekend at the All-American Invitational at East Stroudsburg University.
