Huskies Beat Millersville, One Game Out of PSAC Tournament Spot
BU wins 66-54 on Senior Day; Still alive for tournament

BLOOMSBURG- Senior forward Adon El (Philadelphia, St. John Neumann) scored 15 points, grabbed six rebounds and had three blocks to lead Bloomsburg University to a 66-54 win over Millersville University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Nelson Field House.

Both teams went back and forth in the first half, as the score was knotted at 16-apiece with10:50 remaining. Millersville then took the reins, going on an 8-1 run to take a 24-17 lead a little more than three minutes later. The Huskies (12-12, 6-6) fought back, cutting their deficit to one at 26-25 with 2:43 remaining before heading into halftime down 28-27.

Millersville (8-17, 3-9) came out of the locker room strong, going up by six just 2:40 into the second half after a dunk by Rob Wyley and an open layup by Alen Ahmetovic. The Huskies offense then took flight, as Bloomsburg went on a 20-6 run over the next 10:05 to take a 49-41 lead with 8:15 left in the game.

The Marauders did fight back, bringing their deficit down to six at 53-47 with 5:52 remaining before El and senior guard Ruben Britt (Voorhees, NJ, Eastern Regional) brought the Huskies home, outscoring Millersville 13-7 down the stretch to take the 12-point victory.

Britt scored 14 points and added six rebounds and three steals. Sophomore guard Trevon Johnson (Snow Hill, MD, Snow Hill) added 10 points and four rebounds in the win. Prior to the game, Bloomsburg honored Britt, El and fellow senior Greg Elliott (White Rock, British Columbia, Earl Marriott) in Senior Day festivities.

The Huskies remain alive in the PSAC tournament race, as they are just one game behind Kutztown (20-5, 7-5) for the final spot. Bloomsburg finishes up the season next week at Mansfield (17-8, 8-4) on Wednesday and at Kutztown on Saturday. The Huskies defeated the Golden Bears in the season's first matchup, 70-58.
