Kelsey Gallagher Earns Third PSAC East Player of the Week Award
Sophomore Captain averaged 25.5 points in leading Huskies to the PSAC Tournament

BLOOMSBURG - Bloomsburg University women's basketball player Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for the period ending February 28. It was her third player of the week award of the season.

Gallagher came up big as she led the Huskies to a 2-0 record for the week, as she averaged 25.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists to help Bloomsburg gain a spot in the conference tournament for the first time since the 2004-05 season. In Wednesday's 87-54 win at Mansfield, Gallagher scored a game-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting, also going 4-for-4 from the free throw line. In the 72-67 win over Kutztown, Gallagher scored a game-high 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including 4-of-8 from behind three point range.

Gallagher closes out the regular season second on the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game and rebounding with 6.2 boards a game. She is shooting 43.3 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from three-point range and 78.8 percent from the foul line.

The Huskies (16-10, 8-6) will compete in the 2010 PSAC Tournament Quarterfinals at Kutztown University in a conference re-match against the Golden Bears. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
